Common problems which require Boat Repairs

As with any problem in the world, the best solution can often be to prevent the issue from occurring in the first place.  At Holt Marine, our team our highly qualified marine mechanics often pass this rule on to many of our clients who arrive at our workshop for boat repairs Brisbane.  In today’s blog post, we will take a close look at some of the most common problem that our marine mechanics see at Holt Marine, and provide you with some hints and tips on how to avoid these problems into the future.

Engine Troubles

If we had to pinpoint the most problematic area of the boat which our marine mechanics often deal with at Holt Marine, it would definitely be the engine.  We often get customers into our shop who’s engine simply doesn’t start, begins to make strange noises or perhaps even produces a poor performance on the water.  Many of these issues can be avoided by performing routine maintenance and vigorously checking the engine before heading out onto the water.  It’s better to find any problems on land rather than in the middle of the ocean.

Steering Failure

Another common issue which we see at Holt Marine occurs with boats that have developed poor or faulty steering.  This can be extremely dangerous if the steering issue presents itself you are at speed out on the water.  We recommend that you check all of your cables and steering functions before setting off, and set aside the time to replace any cables the second they look worn.

In today’s blog post, we have identified two of the main boat troubles that quite often require Boat Repairs Brisbane.  Stay tuned for next month’s article, where we will explore how unnecessary wear and tear can cost you thousands in repairs.  In the meantime, if you wish to contact our team at Holt Marine to find out more, simply give us a call on (07) 3353 1928.
