How to prevent unnecessary Boat Repairs

If you are like many other boating enthusiasts we know, then you would have sunk a lot of money into your boat.  The thrill of racing through the water in the summer heat and the feeling of tranquility experienced when gently drifting in a current is truly something that must be experienced.  Unfortunately this blissfulness cannot last forever, as many Brisbane boat owners store their machines away for the unpleasant winter months.  In today’s blog post we will educate our readers on how to properly prepare your boat for this storage period, to ensure that you won’t have to perform any unnecessary boat repairs as the next summer approaches.

Invest in Storage

One of the most obvious and most important ways to keep your machine in top condition when it is not being used for a long period of time is to correctly store it.  Ideally the best place to store your boat would be in a designated shed, which is completely protected from the elements.  In saying this, we understand that it is not always physically and financially possible to own a shed.  If this is the case, then you should invest in a high quality boat cover.  Custom fitted covers are the best, as they fit your boat perfectly and will best protect it from the natural elements.

Preparation is Key

Before you store your boat away, you should also ensure that you have correctly prepared your machine.  Although this can be somewhat of a tedious task at times, just remember that your boat was most likely not cheap, and incorrectly storing it can easily result in expensive repairs.  We recommend that you clean the hull of the boat, grease all the areas that require grease and generally make sure that it is in as perfect condition as you can get it.
